Jeffrey D. Byron- BG Performer

Donation protected
One of our beloved regular BG performers from Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist has passed away. It is with a heavy heart to hear that one of our very own was struggling with multiple health issues and has now passed away. With the permission of his family, I am starting this page to donate a little something for them. We here at Zoey's figure this is something that we all wanted to pitch in.

Jeffrey was one of the sweetest and kindest people we had the honor of working with. He made such a positive mark everywhere that he went and now we would like to give back. You may also look at him and think you remember him and that's probably because you do. He also worked as a PA in between working as a BG on what I hope was his favorite show.  His father made a post on Facebook about his story so please feel free to read that to understand the full details. And I'm sorry if the writing in this post isn't grammatically correct but it's been a bit of a shock.

You will forever be in our hearts- The Zoey's Family

Story Told by Dad:

How do you start a post like this?
This is my son Jeffrey Byron. I don't have the words to express how much I love this boy, and how proud I am of him.

He struggled to make a living as a background actor in the Vancouver Film Industry for just over four years, amidst rapidly deteriorating kidney function, as his friends might know.

Last July his second major collapse of his kidneys occurred, taking him from 7% down to 3% kidney function, and into a coma in emergency in the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC.

Yet he survived after emergency dialysis, through a needle in the femoral artery in his leg, and walked out of there 5 days later.

He then had to concede to go onto permanent hemo dialysis with a permatheter placed into his chest in an artery to his heart, early last fall, having 4 hours of dialysis, Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays ever since.

But he soldiered on and was a permanent background actor for the winter on season two of "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist"
He loved being on set, and his cast members loved having his smiling spirit around them as well.

Jeff is struggling no more!

He developed a blood infection from his permacath on Family Day in Feb. Spent 10 days in the hospital getting IV antibiotics every four hours, then caught covid-19 in the hospital. They decided to send him home to recuperate, for 14 days of quarantine.

He made it to his dialysis session on Wednesday, March 3 and during the night, left this world with a heart attack, on March 4. His dearest friend in Vancouver, Miro, found his body Saturday night on the floor of his bedroom wrapped up under blankets, when Jeff wasn't responding to text messages.

He is free now from all the physical pain and the struggles to make a living. The ones left behind now have the pain of losing him.

His mom Darlee and I have an empty hole in our lives that can never be filled.
We will see him again, when we turn the last page of our story in this life, but it will be - oh so lonely, until then.

We love you, Jeffrey with all our heart. Rest well son and keep a light on for us.
