Jeffrey has toof problems

About a month ago, I plucked Jeffrey off the street in the South Bronx where he had been living in a feral cat colony (feral cats are cats who have never been raised by humans). About two years ago, my friend and co-worker, who takes care of the colony noticed the arrival of a new, clearly pre-owned cat. She got him neutered, vaccinated and named him Jeffrey. Unable to take him in herself, she gave him love and food for two years until I came along, desperately looking for "a cat who likes belly rubs." She took me to meet Jeffrey and it was love at first sight...kind of...he was pooping..but then he came over and nuzzled me a lot.

I not only got my "cat who likes belly rubs," but I got the most incredible companion. Jeffrey is the definition of a curmudgeon; he sulks around the house, whining and flopping onto his side about every ten seconds (in hopes of getting pet). He sleeps with his legs stretched out on my belly and actually says the word ‘hello.’ I’m so ridiculously in love (obsessed?).

Jeffrey is an older cat and as a result of living on the streets, his teeth are broken and infected. He needs a cleaning, and several extractions which is very costly. In addition, he needs bloodwork done, and a few medications. Even with my discount (as an ASPCA employee), the total vet bill is very expensive and any amount that you can contribute is greatly appreciated. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
