Jeff's stroke & business battle - Taste of the Pacific
Donation protected
Hi everyone, this is Jeff's wife, Mrs. Taste of the Pacific : )
My husband and I started our pop-up food stand business back in 2018 and have been doing pop-ups for 6 years straight. We have worked harder than you can ever imagine to build this business, and dream of ours to where it stands today. We both are former Respiratory Therapists and have dedicated our lives to Taste of the Pacific, doing it all for our four children. We were blessed to have been given the opportunity to open our first brick & mortar in September of 2024 and have come to the unfortunate circumstance of the situation that we are currently in. Our business is in jeopardy as we have came across some issues that we cannot speak of all the way because we are going all the way through with what it is and are fighting our fight, legally, for what we worked so hard for. We will not allow anything to attempt to end or wrongfully take what we started.
After dealing with all the major stress that has been put on us, my husband has suffered a stroke in December, last year. He is doing much better now and has got most of his feeling back on the right side of his body but is not 100%. We have been together for 22 years and I love this man to death. His children and I need him to get back on track with his health and everything else that is going on so he can come back on board to do what we do best as the team that we are together. It's been real tough doing this without him, especially with four kids, the youngest being 2 years old and the whole situation in itself. There is so much more than what people think that is happening but there is literally so much more that goes on behind those closed doors.
We are not the type of people to put our business out there which is why nothing has been made public or even known to certain people since all this has happened, but unfortunately the only village that we have is my husband and I, our children, our comadres & compadres, friend's that we consider family, and our staff. It takes a whole village to turn these types of circumstances back around to where it started and we are now forced to do it this way. We feel very embarrassed to do so as we never ask for anything like this but as far as this has come, it seems like this is the only route for us at this point. It was real difficult to even start this fundraiser because we really are the type to not ask for help. Everyone who knows us, knows that we are true hustlers at heart and never in our life have we asked for any kind of hand out like that.
We have lost half of our staff, our village, and are surviving by a string which now some of you may understand why things are ran the way it is when you come to find out. We are doing everything in our power to do what we have to do to keep our business going and will continue to do so as far as we can. We started this business literally from the ground up, with no kind of guidance but only with the support from each other. We are going to legally fight for our business and once it's all over everyone will know our story because this shouldn't happen to anybody at all, knowing all the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice that is put into this. For those that this happened to before us, we are doing this for you and so that anyone after us will never have to experience this. We have so much love & respect for this industry that this is what we must do... fight for what's right!!
We desperately need everyone's help please. Because lastly, if the medication that Jeff is on doesn't work and dissolve the blood clot in his right hand in 7 days then he will have to undergo surgery to remove the blood clot, which will push him back even longer to fight for what is ours and to be back working and doing what he loves at the restaurant and pop-ups. Please keep him, our family and our business in your prayers. We thank you all so much for everyone's love & support. We always have great support from our customers. We ask you guys to come out to our pop-ups/events and you guys never fail to support us every time. At this moment we ask for the biggest and most needed support that we have ever needed in our lives. Any small amount is truly appreciated, and if you’re unable to donate we would appreciate if you can share our story & spread the love. Thank you again, stay blessed and as Jeff would say, "Love ya'll."
