Jeff Wassberg's Burn Recovery
Donation protected
I'm starting this fundraiser for my brother Jeff Wassberg, his wife Sam, and daughter Baylee. For those of you who do not know Jeff he is an amazing person who is always the first to offer his help when someone is in need, regardless of the amount of work it is for him. Those of you who are blessed with having him in your life already know this about Jeff.
On Saturday September 3rd Jeff went to our parents cabin for Labor Day weekend with his family. After being at the cabin for a very short time there were issues with a lawn mower and Jeff naturally offered to help fix it.
An incident happened with the mower, gasoline shot out of the mower and and explosion caught his leg on fire. Dad drove Jeff to the hospital in Superior Wisconsin, shortly after arriving he was transferred by ambulance to Essentia Health - Burn Care Unit in Duluth Minnesota. He suffered mostly second degree burns and some third degree burns spanning from his inner thigh to his ankle. At this point the surgeon is hoping no skin grafting will be needed, but they will reassess in two weeks.
On Wednesday Jeff may be able to go home, Sam will be changing his dressing two times daily. Due to the extensive burns Jeff will not be able to work for 6-8 weeks. Between medical bills, medical supplies, and time off work Jeff and Sam would appreciate any help they can get. They would never ask, so that is why I'm asking for them.
Positive thoughts and prayers would be greatly appreciated as Jeff has lots of recovery ahead!
