Jelani K. Carter Memorial Fund

Our family is saddened to announce that our brother, Jelani K. Carter, passed on January 10, 2024. He was 42 years old. He had been suffering from significant medical illnesses, and now that he joins our beloved Mother Irene Culver in heaven, he is at peace and at rest. Jelani had a passion for martial arts and coaching, and was known to give encouraging words or lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was fearless and an inspiration to many who knew him. Despite his illnesses, he persevered with an indomitable spirit from within. We are grateful to his martial arts community for loving him and helping him to see his champion within. Over the holidays, his optimism for the future was palpable and he shared his hopes and dreams with us with a renewed sense of self and purpose. Prior to his passing, he had been striving to receive a double organ transplant, wanting to dive fully back into the sports he loved, and although he was unable to attain this goal, he is now hale and whole in heaven. He had a heart of gold, and he will be dearly missed.
