Jemima’s Recovery

Hey guys… I know it’s been a while since we’ve talked... I’ve got some good news and some extra, extra bad news. The good news is that I’ve met an absolutely incredible woman that I’ve totally fallen for, and I mean head over heels. The night we met, it was one of those love-at-first-sight, soulmate-type moments that people tell you about, where you might roll your eyes so hard they almost fall out of your head - and I wouldn’t blame you. Until I met her, I didn’t believe this type of connection could even happen. It feels like we’ve known each other our entire lives. Her name is Jemima, and if you’ve had the pleasure of meeting her you know just how awesome she is.
So… The extra, extra bad news…is that while she was moving her belongings from Portland, Oregon to Louisville she was in a horrible car accident. The SUV that she was driving suddenly blew a tire, causing her to lose control, and then the vehicle rolled several times. When it stopped rolling her head was pinned underneath the car, her spine was completely severed, and she was left paralyzed. The injury occurred at the base of her neck, and she is now quadriplegic. I have never been one to ask for help, but if there were ever a time when we could use a little help from our friends, this is most certainly it.
She is still in Lincoln, Nebraska, where the accident occurred, and will have to stay there until she has undergone several months of physical therapy. After that, she will have to stay in a home in Lincoln until we figure out the best possible scenario for her here in Louisville. She is fortunately going to be covered by Medicaid for the most part, but I am asking for your support to help cover the difference in medical bills, travel costs for visitations, incidentals, and the considerable amount of income I will have to forego while I’m there helping her adjust and recover from this tragedy. Anything you can give is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
