Jen Ellis is a hard working elementary school teacher, mother, and the creator of Bernie Sanders' mittens. Little did she know her world would turn upside down on Inauguration Day when Bernie's mittens lit up social media! She has decided to turn this extraordinary moment into an opportunity to raise money for Vermont charities and she needs our help. Here's a message from Jen:
"Guess what?! I’m not opening a mitten factory or quitting my job as a second grade teacher! However, I am going to choose a new adventure on the side. So many people have experienced joy and laughter from Bernie’s Mittens and I want to harness that joy for a movement of generosity, because I believe that Generosity Brings Joy!
I have hired a media specialist, a lawyer, and an accountant to help me move forward. I am partnering with local Vermont Companies such as Darn Tough Socks and Vermont Teddy Bear to create products inspired by Bernie’s mittens. I am helping to design these awesome products so they bring people joy! Every product I promote will benefit a Vermont Charity.
Never fear- I will make more mittens, but I won’t be selling them for myself. I will be donating them to Vermont Charities to help them fundraise and make up for the funds lost due to the pandemic. And there’s more to come; many great things are happening.
This Go Fund Me is to raise the start-up money to pay the many kind people who have helped me figure this out. This extraordinary thing happened on Inauguration Day and without warning, my life was forever changed. Please help me grow something awesome out of this experience!"
