Hello everyone! I have started a GoFundMe for my sister, Jen (aka Herman) to help her out with her piling medical bills.

In 2021, Jen was diagnosed with Hashimoto's which is an autoimmune disorder making her more susceptible to any illness which crosses her path. In November of 2022, as Jen was working with the elderly as an activities coordinator she contracted Covid. Due to her lack of immunity, Covid has taken a remarkable toll on her body.

Since she was a new employee, PTO was never an option for her and she was terminated for medical reasons after 30 days post-Covid diagnosis, just before Christmas.

Since November there have been countless ER visits, frantic and terrifying paramedic calls, urgent care stops, doctors' appointments, and at-home IV infusions.

Within these endless pokes and prods, a cardiologist diagnosed Jen with post-Covid Dysautonomia/POTS. This causes Jen an unpredictable heart rate, severe brain fog, fatigue, heat intolerance, shortness of breath, and the inability to digest food properly which has made her weak and her body unable to gain the strength it needs to heal. If you know Jen, you also know she loves to read, loves her nieces, and loves her dogs. Since this illness, she hasn't been able to enjoy the simple pleasures of reading, a rambunctious sleepover, or even picking up a new book at Target.

With each doctor seen, there comes a bill. As of now, Jen is seeing a chiropractor twice per week who specializes in nervous system regulation and is going through weekly physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. She also continues to receive at-home IV treatments every 4 days.

Her IV treatments and chiropractor alone add up to $500.00 each week with no coverage from insurance. Jen has drained her savings and now I am asking for help.

I visited home for Christmas for 5 days and witnessed her severe pain, throwing up, no sleep, endless tears, and watching my mom rush her to urgent care twice. The tears have now taken on a second meaning as funds come due and money runs out.

As we all know, every dollar counts, every dollar is stretched, and every word of encouragement can mean just as much.

Jen has a long road ahead of her and if you are able to give or even share this it would mean the world to Jen and me as her Herman.
