Jen LaValle’s Medical Expenses

As many of you know on September 26, 2022 Jen LaValle went to the emergency room for constant debilitating headaches where she was told if she went home and went to sleep there was a chance she wouldn’t wake up. After a CT scan she was diagnosed with a cystic pineal mass in the center of her brain. September 29, 2022 the neurosurgery team at UMMC performed surgery to redirect Jen’s spinal fluid since the tumor was blocking the fluid from leaving her brain. While that surgery was a success, another dangerous and invasive surgery will be required in November. Her team will go in the back of her skull thru her cerebellum to drain one of the masses and hopefully provide Jen some relief. They will also obtain a tissue sample so they can categorize her tumor and get a plan together for treatment. Jen has been teaching but is currently unable to do so. While she does have insurance, UMMC is out of her network. They are the best at what they do which is more important than a “network”. All donations will go directly to Jen to help with her ever growing medical bills and other expenses she’s unable to cover due to missing work. Please keep Jen, Mike and Lorenzo in your prayers. Lorenzo is unable to see his mom each time she goes to the hospital as kids aren’t allowed because of Covid restrictions further complicating everything.
