Jen Rocket LLC Studio Fire Recovery Fund

Imagine leaving your home for three hours and returning to this.

Jen Rocket is an independent sewn product designer and engineer. The night of Thursday, October 6, she faced the worst nightmare of any small business owner: Jen's studio, located in her home, was devastated by an electrical fire, and they lost everything.

Our studio, Why Sew Workshop, is reaching out to the sewing community to help her get back on her feet because it will take the help of a whole village to recover from this. So many folks in the sewing world (including us) would not be here today without Jen Rocket's mentorship, advocacy, and passion for teaching. Jen's intense drive, focus, and work ethic are only matched by her desire to introduce others to the beautiful complexity of sewn product design and manufacture. She's a precious knowledge resource for the Pittsburgh community and beyond.

This fundraiser will help raise much-needed cash for immediate expenses while Jen figures out what's next. The money will also defray the costs of replacing an entire studio's worth of industrial sewing machines, tools, notions, mannequins, and more.
