The stunning, blonde-headed, blue-eyed girl staring back at you in the photo is my aunt Jena Yoder. To jump right into the sickness that Jena has would be flawed. Jena is more than a cancer patient. I feel that I would be cheating you out of knowing the most beautiful person I’ve ever met if I kept her to myself. So, please continue to read this.
Jena is first and foremost a follower of the one true king, Jesus Christ. Her immense faith is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. She trusts Jesus without question. Throughout devastating circumstances, she has continued to look to the Heavens. She has continued to look to her Healer.

I remember the day she told us she was diagnosed with cancer. I was paralyzed with fear. For a while, all our family could do was pray. We shed many tears and continue to do so unto this day. Why our Jena? I remember crying out to God. Please, please… don’t take her just yet. I need her here with me. She’s supposed to be in my wedding one day. It wouldn’t be the same without her. She’s supposed to go out on girl’s night with us again for sushi. We need our beach trip. We have each other’s name in the Christmas drawing every year. She has to help me with my boy problems and tell me what to do. These are just a few of the things I need her for. It doesn’t even touch everything her children need her for. We can’t do this life without her.

Through every heart wrenching moment, one comment from her rang out loudly that changed my view thus far. She said, “I don’t care what happens to me as long as Jesus is glorified.” His plan may seem reckless, confusing, and unfair when we see it through our carnal mind. However, it is far greater in the end than anything we could think of. She pushes me to have that kind of faith. God whatever you want is exactly what we need.

Jena has an incredible husband, Rod, and six little prayer warriors: Cash, Karston, Lily, Sophia, Caleb, and Kampton, rooting her on from home. It is our continued prayer that she will see her children grow into amazing men and women of God.

Though God could choose to heal her supernaturally, he is currently choosing to give the team of doctors at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas the knowledge to help Jena. She is currently being treated at this facility for Stage 4 Metastatic HR2+ breast cancer, this cancer is extremely aggressive and without Jesus this would all seem hopeless.
Though the enemy means for this cancer to defeat Jena, Jesus has a clearly different plan. We are excited to see what God has in store for her life. It is not over yet, for God is working.

Jena’s current health insurance is considered out of network and self-pay at MD Anderson. In order to continue treatment at MD Anderson, we must remain in a current status. In order to remain current we would need your help.

Please know that this family would never ask for money unless it was crucial. If you feel led to give, we would all be so incredibly grateful.
