Let's Finish This!

After 15 years, we finally brought home our baby girl, Adriana! We were chosen by a young mom in Iowa back in September. We were then, and are now, in love with this little girl! Only issue was that the birth mom had 96 hours to change her mind after signing the papers.  And she tried to get her back the next day. We had to drive our sweet baby girl back to the lawyer's office after one day! We were devastated. But we had a glimmer of hope when the birth mom waffled again and we found out that her 96 hours was still ticking by.  When she didn't revoke her consent by the end, we got our girl back!
We returned home and thought we were through with all the drama.   But then this week we found out that the birth mom is contesting the adoption and wants to get her back. The only way she can get her back is if she proves that our lawyer did something wrong. The lawyer assures us that they followed the law exactly.  But now we have to not only pay for our lawyer, an attorney ad litem for the baby, and also for the birth mother. That is why I am changing this page! We need help with these extra fees that we never thought we would have to pay.  We are waiting on a definite number but it is sounding like between 5 and 10,000. We already owe 31,000 from the adoption so this definitely hits us where it hurts. But we will do anything to keep our girl! Thanks again.
