Jenn Phoenixx's NewYearNoUterus

Donation protected
Hi, this is Beth, friend and roommie to the one and only Jenn Brooks, a.k.a. Phoenixx. This amazing human, jewelry artist, event coordinator, cook, manager, volunteer, friend, helping hand, crocheter of plushness, strong-ass love gangster woman needs our help!

For the past three years she has been living with uterine fibroids that have been consistently increasing in size. The largest one on the inside is 3 centimeters and the one outside of her uterus is 5 centimeters. That is a half-dollar sized tumor on the inside, and a large plum-sized tumor on the outside. These benign tumors are impacting her urinary and bowel functions to the point she is uncomfortable leaving the house some days. Bigger fibroids both inside and outside her uterus has also meant increasing pain and blood loss both during and in between menstrual cycles to the point where she is bedridden, either with pain or with exhaustion most days. Too many days, I have only seen her get out of bed to eat and use the restroom and I have often brought her medication or food in bed because she couldn't move. She has spent a lot of time and energy mitigating pain.

The levels of major blood loss caused her ferritin (storage iron) to dip down to 5, where it should be somewhere in the mid 100s. This made her go anemic to the point she is getting iron infusions because the daily iron supplements and normal diet were barely doing a thing. If you don't know, lack of iron causes many issues on its own because iron is what carries oxygen in your blood. When there isn't enough oxygen in the blood all of the major organs suffer. Lack of oxygen to the brain, for instance, causes forgetfulness, brain fog, confusion, and lightheadedness to the point of almost fainting. I have seen Jenn go through all of theses symptoms for at least two years now and it has just been getting worse. She is not able to work consistently or even pursue her art, which brings her depression and stress that only further aggravate her pain.

But...

On January 12th, 2024 that asshatted uterus of hers will be yeeted out of her! Wahooooo!!! At 43 years old, Jenn has opted for a partial hysterectomy to alleviate pain, discomfort, and the potential for the fibroids to grow back. Her primary care doctor has ordered her to keep her stress levels as low as possible.

And so...

With all the pain and everything she has been going through, she wasn't physically able to work much for most of 2023, and now she can barely work at all as she has two more months until her surgery, and then has a 6-8 week recovery period. This financial ask is for the bare minimum Jenn needs to pay rent and bills for three months, but as I just said, she is dealing with a lot more down-and-out time than that. Anything you can give to help our Phoenixx get through these last months before she gets her life back would be very appreciated! She wants to feel better, mentally and physically, and her friends and loved ones want to see her return to living a full and happy life.
