Help Jenn with medical expenses
Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Avery and I'm Jenn's youngest. As you all know, my mom coached and traveled all up and down the east coast for softball. From day-to-day training to taking one of the teams she helped create as a whole to compete at Nationals in Ocean City Maryland. She coached school ball, and travel ball and on top of that ran her clinic for players of all ages who would travel just to be able to train with her.
Aside from all that, what some of you may not know is she got into a car accident in May of 2020, and the trauma of the accident caused a blood clot to form on her brain. The doctors never wanted to operate so she was given medications to hopefully help shrink the clot and her doctors started closely monitoring her to make sure it wasn't/hadn't grown. All signs pointed to the doctors weren't going to have to operate because her medications were working. Fast forward to Christmas time 2021, Covid was spreading rapidly through her work and in our household. Covid hit my mom the worst. Her fever persisted and never broke until unfortunately, it caused the clot on her brain to burst and that sent her into a stroke-like seizure. She lost most motion on her left side, and her memory is no longer what it used to be. She can't even throw a ball anymore. Due to all of this, she was only cleared to work 12 hours a week at her day job, until she had another seizure episode at her place of work.
Since then, she has been in and out of the hospital due to smaller episodes that resemble seizures, these episodes could happen 3 times a day or once a week. She's been through weekly doctor appointments, and multiple tests/clinical trials, she's even downgraded her whole life by packing up and living in a camper to try to keep up with the medical expenses. Still, she has no solid answers from her doctors. They have said it could be PRES syndrome i.e Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a clinico-radiological syndrome characterized by a headache, seizures. Which is supposed to be reversible but they have been unsuccessful in doing so. Now the doctors are throwing out the idea of medically induced Parkinson's due to all the medications they have had her on even starting from the car accident.
Today January 11th, 2023, my mom was diagnosed with covid again. She's being closely monitored, but still nerve-wracking as covid is the start of this all. The money raised would help her pay for unpaid medical expenses, medications not covered by her insurance, and her day-to-day life to be made a little easier as she has been denied disability 3 times and has been out of work for almost a year now. I know she isn't going to like me starting this fundraiser for her, but she's given so much of herself to her community through softball, so I wanted to help by giving a little back.
