Hello Friends,
I have come across your screen today to ask for some help. Many of you know that our friend Jennifer was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in October of 2018 shortly after a doctor appointment for an infected milk duct. Jenn was currently breast feeding her 11 month old son Austen and believed a simple doctor visit would be the end of it.. not the start of an entire new way of life for her and her family. She was diagnosed with PABC pregnancy associated breast cancer. Unfortunately, this is a very fast moving maligant form of breast cancer that had already spread to her lungs and lymph nodes when she was diagnosed 3 months ago. Jenn started a very aggressive chemotherapy regimen October 11th and has been going every 3 weeks for her 'Chemo Cocktail" of 3 different chemo drugs. I am very happy to announce that at her last appointment Jan 3rd we received the fantastic news that the chemo IS WORKING! The lung tumors were smaller and some were even gone!
Great news right!! - Now what?.. you ask? Well, we thought Jan 3rd might be her last day of chemo but since this "Chemo Cocktail" is working her doctor wants her to keep going. She most likely has at least 3 - 4 more months of chemotherapy (along with those side effects we all know and or hear about.. or maybe even some of you reading this have been though) When spring arrives she will have surgery, a double mastectomy. She FINALLY stopped working completely at the end of December.
Yes, now we are at the part where I ask those who are capable and willing ..to help a girl, and family out. Jenn and her fiancé Russ have relied heavily on credit cards to make ends meet over the last few months. Exhausting most to their limit. Russ was laid off from his job back in October when he missed several days from work to take Jenn to the doctor for appointments, test, scans and to be with her to hear her diagnosis. (I know- don't get me started on that one) Russ is currently working but there is just not enough coming in to cover Jenn's loss of pay, high credit card payments and supporting 2 small children. Austen age 1 and Kaden age 6.
Jenn has at the very least another 6-7 months of not being able to work. I'm hoping with your help we can relieve some of her sleepless nights and stresses over her financial situation. I promise you any help will not go unnoticed or unappreciated. It is not easy to ask for help.. but it is not easy to kick cancer's ass either ..and she's doing just that !
Thank you for your time and interest in helping my friend.
