Jenna Bailey’s fight against breast cancer fund
Donation protected
Friends, family and beyond-
My best friend and sister, Jenna Bailey, needs your support. Some of you may not even be aware that this incredibly resilient woman has been battling breast cancer for the last 7 months, and she has reached a critical point in her fight against this horrible disease. Your donations will help to cover mounting medical and living expenses so that Jenna may focus on her health and loved ones at this time.
Earlier this year, Jenna was diagnosed with breast cancer after noticing a lump during a self breast examination. Jenna’s mom and dad have battled cancer over the last couple years, so Jenna took swift action and connected with the world renowned medical team at Fred Hutchins Cancer Center in Seattle, WA. She remained optimistic and ready to take ANY actions necessary to defeat this nasty disease. On August 10th she had a surgery to remove a large portion of her breast. Unfortunately, during the surgery they found that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes. With this discovery her medical team recommended an experimental surgery that may be able to remove this as well, but it is going to take a significant toll on her as she hasn’t even fully recovered from the last surgery, AND it’s not covered by insurance. Before her medical team can perform this surgery they need to be sure that the cancer has not spread to her brain and bones (positive vibes) Even if they are able to perform the surgery there is a possibility Jenna will suffer from lymphedema in addition to all the side effects that come along with chemotherapy and radiation.
The road ahead is arduous and full of uncertainty, and in spite of all this, Jenna has pushed forward and remained optimistic. However, her health has continued to decline and has impacted her ability to function consistently from day to day. Which in turn has affected her ability to work and long term care will cut her income significantly.
If you are able, I ask for your support of her battle. My heart is breaking, but I’m trying to stay strong for my dear friend, so I’m organizing this on behalf of Jenna as she would never ask on her own. She is one of the most loving and generous people I know, and right now she needs all the support she can get. With love and appreciation.
