Jennie Hogan Emergency Family Fund

Jennie Hogan had a seizure while in bed at home on June 5th, 2020. She was found unresponsive and barely breathing by Ash, who immediately made an emergency 911 call.
Unfortunately the seizure resulted in permanent brain damage to Jennie’s hippocampus, which caused complete short term memory loss. After more than a month in the hospital, the damage spread throughout Jennie’s entire brain, causing her to lose almost complete functionality of her body and mind. Jennie has been diagnosed with Delayed Post-Hypoxic Leukoencephalopathy (DPHL), also known as Grinker's Myelinopathy. This is a very rare disease of the central nervous system and little is known about any possibility for recovery or rehabilitation. Jennie’s medical team has made the difficult decision to move her into a permanent long-term care facility.
For the past twenty years, Jennie’s partner in life has been her best friend and co-parent, Ash. Jennie and Ash shared a home together with their two children, Dylan (17) and Jagger (14). This has been an incredibly hard hit on the family both emotionally and financially. Ash has been off work for the last couple years on Workers Compensation due to PTSD which he acquired after nearly twenty years in the nonprofit field, saving more than 1000 lives from drug overdoses. Ash is currently receiving retraining through WorkSafeBC and attending a Professional Barbering Course that has just now restarted after being shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately due to his inability to return to work, Ash is on a very fixed income and is unable to afford the bills piling up, as well as upcoming rents without Jennie’s contribution. Ash is actively looking for more affordable housing in his current neighborhood for himself and his children, but does not have the necessary funds for damage deposits and first month's rent without Jennie’s income.
For over 10 years, Jennie was a personal trainer and a small business owner of Hogan Fitness. She was passionate in her work and had an immense positive effect on the many people who she helped through their fitness journeys, whether through her one-on-one training programs or community Boot Camps. We all love Jennie, Ash and the kids and hope that you can help us to raise some funds that will help get the family back on their feet in a positive, healing and loving way. Please consider making a donation if you can and sharing this with others who might be able to do the same.
