Jennifer Butler-Whitcher and Family

On February 11th, 2021 the world lost an angel here on earth.  Jennifer Butler-Whitcher passed away at just 39 years young.  Jenn was the loving wife to Gregory Whitcher as well as an exceptional mother to four beautiful children Alec Goodman (20), Grace Whitcher (19), Gavin Whitcher (8), and Logan Whitcher (6).

Jenn was the love of Greg's life and married for 11 years.  They put their family first and overcame so many barriers.  Jenn was the first to be at school functions with in East Haven Public Schools, sing songs, play, and was the best mother possible. She spoke of Alec as her miracle child, as he was born just when she needed him most. In Jenn's eyes, Grace was her own. When watching Grace, she shares the same passion of caring for others, especially her younger brothers. Jenn was always advocating for Gavin and fighting for him to live as normal of a life as possible despite his diagnosis of non-verbal autism. Lastly, Logan seems to have a life lesson to teach all and when you hear it, you know it's her voice through him. She encouraged all of her children be the most kind, caring, and compassionate kids to everyone they meet.  We would define her as a true warrior and she overcame any challenge she encountered.  Her determination to live life to the fullest was an inspiration in itself.  She was an exceptional, one of a kind person, mother, and wife. She was the most caring, supportive, determined, and let’s not forget selfless person we have ever met.  Jenn was able to do the work of 10 women without even batting an eye. She never asked for help, and would always decline when anyone offered.  This is no better feeling than knowing someone who had such a huge impact on our lives will never be forgotten.

One of Jenn’s dreams came true when she opened Shear Passion Hair Salon at Phenix Salons.  All her guests were welcomed with her contagious smile and an open heart for their “hairapy” sessions.  She was truly an artist when it came to hair and took everyone's head into her own hands with care.

As many of you know, this was an unexpected tragedy for our family.   Her loss has sent ripples across the community and to all those who knew her.  We are so appreciative of everyone who has been reaching out to provide their condolences, prayers, and donations.  We are hoping to rally together to provide Jenn with the beautiful send off to start the heavenly journey she deserves.  With the gofundme, we are hoping to ease some of the stress of her services as well as support the family in the upcoming weeks. Please consider sharing or donating as little or much as you are able to do. Every little bit will help this beautiful family.

Thank you,
Butler & Whitcher Families
