Jennifer Desrosiers - Double Lung Transplant

Donation protected
On May 6th, 2023, our friend Jennifer Desrosiers, received another call to report to Brigham & Women’s Hospital, for the double lung transplant she had been waiting and praying for. Hopefully, unlike the two times before, this would be her time. Luckily for Jennifer it was, in the early morning hours of May 7th, the transplant team at Brigham & Women’s successfully gave Jennifer her new lungs, the lungs she and her family had been praying for.

Jennifer’s story began in 2016 when she was a mere 38 years old and had been working for the State of Massachusetts for 16 years; her daughter Ryan was just 12 years old at the time. After not feeling well for quite some time, Jen’s Doctor conducted multiple test and she was diagnosed with Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Alpha-1, its an inherited disorder that may cause lung disease and liver disease. If you would like to learn more about Alpha-1, please check out this link: https://www.alpha1.org/what-is-alpha1/

Jennifer continued to work until her disease took over and she couldnt physically do it anymore. In February of 2017, she had no choice but to go onto Long Term Disability. The reduction of income and medical costs created a tremendous burden on the household and continues to be today.

Fast forwarding to May 2023, since Jennifer’s operation, her husband Ryan has been out of work to be with her and to learn about her aftercare. Their one income household is now temporarily down to less than one and medical bills have increased and continue to increase.

We are asking you to please consider donating to Jennifer’s Go Fund Me to help her and her family pay for the increasing medical bills and household bills during this time while Jen is recovering from her double lung transplant and Ryan is out of work caring for her. No donation is to small and if you would also consider sharing this to your Facebooks and any Groups that will allow it. Jen and her family need our help!

Thank you
Bobbie, one of Jen’s friends ❤️
