Hi there! In 2022,, I was declared legally blind and had to leave my job working with children and families. Since September 2022, I stopped receiving any employment insurance and we have been living on one pay check, with help from family.

Since that time, I have received several declines from government agencies for financial assistance and although in July, 2023, was finally approved for one source of assistance, I still have not received any disability support to date, the delay continues.

Carlos is currently on medical leave for a long-awaited hip replacement surgery and suffered a mental setback due to the extreme financial, health and emotional stressors in our lives, from over the years. We have walked through a medical journey with both our sons with cleft lip and palate, hearing loss and the ectodermal dysplasia syndrome and all that it brings and now find ourselves in a situation where we cannot meet all our financial needs.

This summer I decided to expand my request for help, with this fundraiser.

We are placing all our ‘empty vessels’ before anyone reading our story. If you would like to help us out financially, and help fill our vessels, to be able to make our monthly bills throughout the summer, and fall, and catch up on expenses, it would really give us hope as we wait for the promised funding to come in and we finish our basement renovation to accommodate a renter, to supplement our income. Our family has multiple members walking through medical conditions that are lifelong issues.The load is heavy to bear and so we are reaching out.
