THIS IS THE OFFICIAL UK FUND-RAISING CAMPAIGN FOR JENNIFER OKAI (LADY "J")
Tragedy has no timing nor announcement. Lady J, as she was known to all, because of her hair products has unfortunately passed, leaving behind her son.Lady J is originally from Ghana, was raised in The Netherlands where most of her family are, but emigrated to the UK with her son some 13 years ago.
This classy, beautiful and hardworking lady was seen everywhere with her one and only son, who has now turned 20, and is currently attending university, with hopes to complete the course.
On Monday 28th September: Jennifer sees her son off to University and says goodbye.OnTuesday 6th October, Jennifer’s son tries to speak to the mum and is not able to get through.
He tries on Wednesday 7th October and still the same. At 9pm on the same day, she was found dead in her home.
What would you do if you were at the scene? How will you break suck tragic news to a young man? The son is informed at 5am the following morning, having been evacuated from the University campus by a relative.
We are raising funds to help with Jennifer’s funeral arrangements and to set up a funding pot to help her son complete his University education in this tragic circumstance. Jennifer was the only one he knew. “ I have lost my mum, my best friend and my everything. What can I do now?” laments the young 20-year old man when he is informed of his mother’s sudden death.
The goal of this funding campaign is to raise money for Jennifer's only son, and testament to her legacy.Help us reach our goal of keeping Jennifer’s dream and her only son on the straight path for his embrace of the future without his one and only love and financier.
