Fundraiser to help a mom defending her son against bullying.
A Texas mother mixed a drink with lemon, salt and vinegar in an attempt to stop other students from stealing her son's beverage at school, police said.
Authorities shared that when they arrived, they learned a classmate had given the sick child a drink during PE class.
The drink given was found to have a mixture of lemon, salt and vinegar inside a sports drink bottle. Shortly after the child drank this mixture, he began experiencing a headache and nausea.
After a thorough investigation, deputies said the mother of the student who provided the drink, Jennifer Lynn Rossi, intentionally mixed the contents to prevent her son's drink from being stolen at school by other students.
Officials shared that even though the mixture was NON-TOXIC, the incident caused the child to become hospitalized. Hospital staff shared that the child victim needed additional medical monitoring and would soon be discharged from the hospital.
Rossi, 45, was charged with Injury to a child causing bodily injury.
