Jennifer M. Windle

Hi, my name is Kristyn Joyce and I am fundraising for the family of Jennifer Mehrtens Windle.

A little over 7 years ago, I received a call that Jenny found a lump during a self exam. After a brave battle with Breast Cancer, through chemotherapy and radiation, she was in remission for 5 years. In 2020, she filled her dream to be married, and her next dream, to have a healthy baby. While she was pregnant, she experienced some back pain, and found that her cancer had metastasized to the bones in her spine and possibly beyond. Still, Jenny gave birth, and was blessed with a beautiful baby boy on 12/16/2021. While she should have been enjoying motherhood to the fullest, she had to take a step back to get herself as healthy as she could. She had multiple surgeries, rods placed, chemotherapy treatments, followed by falls, constant broken bones, writhing pain from the cancer and multiple road blocks along the way. All while remaining the most positive person on earth, for her family and her baby boy. On Saturday, January 27, 2024, her battle was lost. She was 39 years old.

For a young widowed father, I can only imagine all the difficulties it brings….financially, mentally, and emotionally. Childcare alone, along with schooling, activities, medical care and college can be daunting; not to mention the medical care and funeral costs that have incurred for him and the family in the interim.

I am creating this page so that I can help Jennifer‘s beautiful son have the life he deserves after losing his young mother. She would have been the light of his life, like she was to all of ours.
