Help Jennifer McCulley Beat Lymphoma!

Donation protected

Anyone who knows my cousin, Jennifer, knows she is NOT the type to ask for help. I can't count the numerous times she has shown up for me, rain or shine, and know many of you reading this feel the same way. Let's help take one thing off her plate so she can focus on kicking some Lymphoma ass!

For anyone who doesn't know Jennifer directly, you need Jennifer in your life. She is without a doubt one of the toughest and hard working people I know and always willing to put family and friends first.  Never hesitant to get her hands dirty to get the job done wether it's making the most amazing 3 tier wedding cake or stump grinding the nastiest of ficus trees. But right now, without a doubt, Jennifer needs us. She is going through the biggest fight of her life!

Towards the end of last year, Jennifer began feeling extreme pain in her back and side, which she tried to treat on her own due to having no insurance. Upon seeing a doctor in February, for what she thought was a kidney infection, Jennifer discovered the shocking news that she had B-Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, attacking her spleen. She immediately started what will be an 8-12 month cycle of chemotherapy treatments to combat the cancer. In just the last few (brutal) weeks, Jennifer has had her first chemo session, received a blood transfusion (due to being anemic), had 2 rounds of thoracentesis to remove excess fluid around her lungs, and had a port put in place for the rest of her chemo treatments. Every day, she's facing new  physical challenges and is left with very little stamina, but she has maintained her positive, fighting (and hilarious) attitude as she learns to navigate these uncharted waters. Jennifer is currently awaiting test results to confirm exactly what Stage she is, which will also confirm the extent of her treatment plan.

Jennifer's diagnosis carries not only an enormously heavy weight emotionally and physically, but financially as well.  Not only is she unable to continue her catering work at this time she is also now having to navigate the complicated and murky waterways that is the current US healthcare system i.e. Medi-Cal. We are raising money to help her with huge medical bills, living expenses, meal services and other unforeseen expenses that will come up during this long journey. We know many of you have reached out to the McCulley's inquiring about how you can help and in all honesty this would be a great way. It is literally one of those "it takes a village" scenarios. We are the village.

We're also sensitive to the fact that the current pandemic climate may have resulted in a shortage of financial resources for a lot of people, so if you're unable to give right now, your prayers and messages of encouragement are also very appreciated forms of currency!

Thank you all for your support in advance. Any and every amount helps bring ease to this very difficult situation. Please share with your family and friends so we can all support Jennifer in this battle. We will continue to update this page as more information comes in.

With Gratitude,
Brian + Team Jennifer
