Hello, I want to start off by saying my loving mother. Who has me, 5 other kids, and two grandchildren, passed early in the morning of March 1st 2022.
She was a loving woman whom loved and got along with everyone she met. One of the most understanding, supportive, and caring people around, no matter what. She was truly a bright light during the darkest times.
Me and my older sister, were driving around, and my mother called us [my mother allowed us to use her car to go visit a couple of our friends, which we thought that was out of character but thought nothing of it at the time] two hours into our drive.
She asked us how are we, what’s going on, we heard her puking, and she was slurring her words. We assumed this was due to the methadone treatment she was doing, to start the transition to becoming clean. We just assumed this because methadone may make a person sick and really drowsy.
The call dropped and she wouldn’t pick up from that point. We simply assumed her phone died or she went to sleep. Twenty minutes later or so we started the hour long drive back home, and when we got back to the house (which belongs to my mothers boyfriend), we couldn’t find her anywhere.
So we went to our rooms. Joking about how she might have had her friends pick her up. But then my sister opened the bathroom door, trying to go in to use the bathroom, and we both found her unresponsive.
We frankly are having trouble knowing how we are all going to pitch into the funeral, and that is going to be very pricey due to our mother did not want to be cremated and was very firm on this. We want to respect her wishes, and there fore we want to be able to make the funeral the way she would have wanted it.
Supporting this fundraiser will not only help us relieve some of our stress, but it will also give us the ability to make sure she gets the funeral we know she’d have wanted.
