Mrs. Florida To Mrs. US

Hello there Friends, Family, & Supporters!
As some of you may know, I was crowned Mrs. Florida 2018 in May and I am on my way to Mrs. US Continental. I am honored to represent our wonderful state of Florida on such a prestigious national stage.
For those who don’t know who I am, my name is Jennifer Powell, a comeback queen who spent my life overweight and overwhelmed. I knew the weight had to lift for me to get where I needed to. I embarked on a fitness journey, and never turned back!
That was the start to the next phase, where I would work through emotions to elevate myself into recovery and self-discovery.
The strength that came was:
“unusual”
“unlikely” and
“undeniable.”
My ability to lift heavy lead me to the opportunity to serve others- bringing them into their full potential through wellness. The leverage I acquired has brought me into a title, a crown and an obligation to serve bigger.
This will be, by far, my heaviest lift!
On May 26th, I was crowned Mrs. Florida- a title that offers the opportunity to head towards Mrs. US Continental in August.
When the glitter falls, I sit firm in the duty that I feel to help our youth learn self-worth, empowerment techniques and love as the most effective language. Once bullied, overweight and insecure myself, I know the pain of growing up without the armor of self-love to combat inevitable peer and cultural pressures. I am determined to partner with organizations willing to invest in children, and I will open my arms to any opportunity I can to share my experience with full transparency.
I am strong because I struggled. I am well because I is willing. I am dedicated because I feels it her duty.
I am revving up to fulfill commitments to my causes of choice, and I need you.
In addition to raising money for charities, I will be spending my year getting out in the community in various ways.
With an ongoing increase in self-esteem struggles in children, I have taken an oath to reach out to as many as possible! Once obese and bullied myself, I know how heavy the struggle is and how long it can stick with you.
I believe that our youth is our responsibility!
My efforts will impact the lives of the kids I get to touch, but there is MORE to be done. That will require YOUR financial support.
Please consider donating to the Boys and Girls Club and be part of this amazing, empowering year!
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for all of your support.
