Jennifer's Emergency Medical Recovery Fundraiser
Donation protected
While on vacation in Jamaica with her 9 year old son and mother- Joyce, Jennifer began experiencing excruciating pain and needing emergency care. She was transported to the nearest hospital in Negril and eventually transferred to Kingston UWI where she was diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm. The UWI in Kingston was unable to perform the care that was needed so they needed to get her back to the states. They were unable to get her stable enough to fly back until July 15th and she was immediately on a life flight to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. While trying to keep her stable she has had to be intubated and sedated and in ICU Cardiac Care.
Within 24 hours of arrival she was prepped for an emergency open heart surgery to repair the tear in her aorta that has spread to abdominal area. There have been detections of a stroke but the doctors will not know the extent of the stroke damage until she can communicate. As of today, July 16th, Jennifers surgery was successful! The surgery took 6 hours. The doctor says the next 48 hours are crucial.
The doctors also state this will be a long hard recovery and cannot predict how long it will take. In her current critical condition, there is no chance of a transfer to a hospital back home in Georgia. We remain hopeful that she moves in the direction of recovery!
Her family is staying minutes away in a hotel, and the expenses for lodging, travel, transportation to and from hospital and food are quickly adding up. The family needs help!
Jennifer is known throughout her community for her generosity, and tough mentality – she’s always willing to lend a hand and do what needs to be done. Tim, her husband has worked hard his whole life to provide for his family and is needing support during this time to ensure Jennifer has him by her side through a long road to recovery. Please give whatever you can; money is desperately needed, and any amount will mean so much. Our family is steadfast in prayer, and we ask that you join us in asking for a complete recovery. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!
