Health Contributions for Jennifer
Donation protected
As many of you know, Jennifer has been boldly fighting Leukemia for over 18 months. She has been very prayerful, very brave, and very, very strong.
While she continues to fight, her battles have evolved into new ones. Thanks to her sister's donation, Jenn's Bone Marrow transplant initially proved to be very successful. However, after a year, her body has begun to battle itself. This condition, called Host Versus Graft Disease (HVSD) has created a new set of struggles and burdens.
Every day Jenn wakes up to new discomforts and symptoms. She has experienced all kinds of internal and external conditions, ranging from rashes and weakness to the overwhelming swelling of her eyes. This symptom in particular has made life's functions extemely difficult; she is not able to see well enough to drive, maintain her independence, or even read a book.
The doctors can only offer relief through an increasingly long list of medications. They can treat each symptom, but not the disease itself. It evolves contstantly.
At this point, the Venegas family has maxed their resources and insurance coverage. They are paying at least $1,000 to $1,500 dollars a month out of pocket. This far into the race, it is money that they simply do not have.
On behalf of the Venegas Family, Jenn, Joe and John, we humbly ask for your help. We are hoping to raise $13,500 to off-set the cost of monthly co-pays and medications. This amount would allow the family to tread water, one month at a time, for up to a year.
Jenn will continue to apply all of her energy and resources to fighting physically. We are hoping that we can ease the burden of her having to battle emotionally and financially as well.
