Jenny Parks Cancer Relief Fund

Donation protected

Hey everybody, Dailen here. If you're reading this, it's probably because you followed a social media link that included a pretty difficult announcement.

Recently, Jenny Parks was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma.

The Good News: she's at Stage 2a, which means that while the cancer has spread from the lymph nodes in her neck down to an area in her chest, it has not spread across her body or into major organs. We caught it early, and she has every intention of kicking its butt.

The Bad News: kicking its butt requires at least four months of treatment--two of chemotherapy, and two of either chemotherapy or radiation, after a scan informs us how effectively the treatment is working.

The Worse News: beating cancer in the United States is *expensive.* Even with insurance, some of her bills, paid out of pocket, are in the thousands. Her insurance has been vague about what they will and will not cover. And it's nigh impossible to work steadily while undergoing treatment--it's hard enough just to focus on your health and keep up your strength. She needs a break.

That's where we come in.

Every dollar donated is one she doesn't have to worry about earning over the next few months. Our initial goal covers her deductible and a few months worth of expenses, including rent, groceries, and a buffer for medical care that may not be covered by insurance. It allows her to focus on self-care, on resting, on spending time with her kitties and on keeping her physical and mental health in the best shape possible.

But, if we can raise more, and exceed this goal? Let's do it.

Jenny is an incredible artist, and an even better friend. She has dedicated herself to making work that brings us all joy--art that makes us smile, and laugh, and geek out. It's masterfully done, it's clever as hell, and her status as a beloved creator is well-earned and well-deserved. And her work only scrapes the surface of the fun, deeply weird brain she has, the passion and compassion that she has for animals and people alike. There's no one else like her.

If her art has ever brightened your day, now is your chance to brighten hers back. Please give what you can--every little contribution adds up! Together, we can ease the burden of a horrifically hard year, and take care of a wonderful human being who deserves it.
