Jenny's Journey
Donation protected
People often talk about living life to the fullest - not taking any moments for granted. Yet, in the craziness that is life we all at times can take the gift that is life, for granted. . .
Early morning, May 5, 2016 everything changed for our family. Jenny Olszewski, 45 years old woke up gasping for air - and went into cardiac arrest. Jenny's longtime love, Brian performed what is believed to be life saving CPR until the paramedics arrived and she was transported to Centegra Hospital-ICU. She coded a second time in the emergency room and they shocked her back. She had to be in an induced coma on a ventilator which was just recently removed.
Jenny is currently at Northern Illinois Medical Center- undergoing continual procedures to assess two critical factors: her heart function and the potential/degree for brain damage due to the period of time her brain was without oxygen..
We are continuing to praise God each day for the gift of life. Jenny was first and foremost a mother.. Emily, 18 years old, spent days and nights at her mother's bedside... And she graduated high school last week without her mother by her side.. Yet this strong, young woman smiled proudly and walked tall to get her diploma. A moment that her mother will see on video .. Natalie, 14 years old, spent all-nighters finishing her high school finals after nights at her mother's bedside.
The family has many unknown paths ahead and already are looking at a multitude of medical costs including assistive care and rehabilitation care. Thank you in advance for all prayers, thoughts and assistance.
