Jenshus continued Medical needs
As many of you already know, Thore suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury 10 years ago. Thore, Justine and Marita have been an inspiration to all who know them, transcending unimaginable challenges every single day.
Ten months ago, Thore became gravely ill, and it was discovered that he had developed two very serious pressure wounds. He’s been in and out of the hospital since Mother’s Day. His healing and recovery has required over 270 days of complete bedrest, numerous hospital stays, swingbed wound care, surgeries, recurring osteomyelitis, septicemia, and IV antibiotics. Increasing medical costs and loss of income over the last 10 months have taken a huge toll on the Jenshus family.
Last week, they were devastated by the news that his wounds are still not healed, and that Thore, once again, will need extended care at a rehab hospital, and will likely be physically separated from Justine and Marita during that time in order to isolate him from potential illnesses.
I set up a GoFundMe page 6 months ago on their behalf to help the Jenshus family, and the funds raised were an enormous help. (And I offer, once again, my heartfelt thanks to those of you who made contributions!)
It's time, once again, to step up and help them out.
I know that raising $10,000 is an ambitious goal. And I know that many of you may be expecting a financial hit in the next few weeks and months due to growing concerns over the Coronaviris. If you are able to donate generously, please do. If you are only able to generously donate $5, please do. Every dollar will make a difference.
It takes a village, and you are part of that village. The Jenshus family would not be who they are without the love, care, and generosity of others.
