On November 12, 2023, Jerald was diagnosed with an aggressive blood cancer called Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). He started chemo immediately after diagnosis. After several months in the hospital and confirmation that the treatments are not reducing the cancer, the decision was made to send Jerald home for hospice. Here is their CaringBridge page.
