Let's Bless Harrisburg Heroine Jere'e Clark

From time to time, local heroes emerge that need our support. Jere'e Clark is one of our local heroes who committed herself to a tremendous act of kindness and compassion. She now needs our support to heal and recover.

Please keep reading to find out why.

"Jere’e Clark was running errands for a special Valentine’s Day surprise for her partner on Feb. 14 when she turned a corner and saw a young boy outside in the snow screaming for help....Clark, 32, pulled her car over and rolled down her window... “Thank you,” the 10-year-boy said with emphatic relief. “I need you to call 911.”

Clark wheeled her car into his driveway and asked what was going on. His answer was worse than anything she could have imagined. “I shot my brother,” the boy said.

The statement stunned Clark, who just moments earlier was ordering cupcakes for a celebration, but now found herself in a life or death situation.

Stopping to help the boy wasn’t the first time Clark has answered a call for help. She’s gained a reputation [for helping people]  in recent years with people who know her best.

Her current partner showed up at the shooting scene on Valentine’s Day for support and told officers about Clark: “She’s gifted or blessed because she stops for everybody.”

That young boy's brother was able to be transported to the hospital.

He died 11 days later. If it was not for Jere'e, he would have never even made it to the hospital.

Out of that moment of kindness and compassion, there is trauma. After that incident, Jere'e and her son have suffered from severe stress and survivor's remorse. She currently feels like she could have done more to save that little boy even though she did all that she possibly could.

Since that horrible situation, Jere'e has been suffering intense nightmares that cause her to relive the trauma of that day. Her son also has vivid memories and asks her tons of questions about what happened to that little boy. He has begun to regress in some of his developmental milestones as well.

We are fundraising to help Jere'e  and her son. She has expressed the need for counseling for herself and her son for one year. She is suffering, but she is strong. She is taking the right steps to get through this. Will you support her? Jere'e will go down in history as our Harrisburg Heroine who always stops to help others in need. Please give today!
