Update 12/10/23
Jeremy was having some troubles with his vision getting blurry and had an MRI done a little over a week ago. They found that he also had a spot in his skull. They don't believe that this is a new spot as they never did an MRI before since there was no reason to.
Earlier this week Jeremy was talked to about the possibility of starting a clinical trial if his current immunotherapy treatments weren't working. He had another CT scan done on Wednesday. There they found that the tumors were larger, however his liver count was up. It's their belief that the treatments are in fact working but causing the tumors to become inflamed (they gotta get worse before they get better). For now, the immunotherapy will continue and the clinical trial has been passed on. The doctors are still working on finding him a nausea med that will work for him. He hasn't been able to eat a whole lot due to the inflamed kidney pressing on his stomach making him feel full, along with the nausea from his treatments. Please continue to pray!!!
Update: yesterday we found out that the cancer is stage 4. Monday Jeremy goes in to have a scope done to make sure there is no risk of bleeding. As long as that goes well he can start some injection treatments to hopefully help manage his cancer. We will know more after we see how he responds to the injections.
Hello all. My name is Jen and I'm fundraising for my brother, Jeremy (43), who is a loving father, husband, brother, son, uncle and friend to many. He has always been known for his kindness, humor and amazing work ethic.
About 2 months ago he was experiencing really bad upper back pains. He went and got it adjusted a few times, which only worsened the pain.
A month(ish) goes by and the pain started spreading through his ribs. Things really went downhill after that. He started to get abdominal pains and was starting to have troubles keeping food down.
On Wednesday 9/13/23 he finally decided to go see a Dr. They took some blood tests at that time to try to figure out what was going on. That Friday they had him go in for an ultrasound. Not long after the ultrasound was done, his Dr called him and told him that he needed to get to the emergency room ASAP and have a CT scan done. On his scan they found spots on his liver, spleen, lungs and rib bones. They did a biopsy of the spot on his liver (which is half of his liver) and kept him overnight for the pain of the biopsy.
He just got his results back yesterday (9/22/23) which confirmed that he has liver cancer that has spread. He won't find out the stage or the treatment plan until next week some time when the oncologist team contacts him.
If you are able to help out while he is out of work for the next few months, it would be greatly appreciated. Every little bit helps. And if you're not in a position to make a monetary contribution (we all know how the economy is right now), thoughts and prayers work wonders
Thank you so for taking your time to read this and helping in any way you can!
