Jeremy Maraj Memorial Fund
Donation protected
On the evening of July 17, 2019, while crossing Galloping Hill Rd on his way home from Irene Hoppe Park, 12 year old Jeremy Maraj was involved in a tragic hit-and-run accident leaving him in critical condition. He was rushed to University Hospital in Newark where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries with family and friends by his side.
Jeremy was a delightful young man who had a positive impact on anyone he was around. I can honestly say my life and the lives of all those he knew and loved were better because of him. He loved to play soccer and basketball and I'm not ashamed to admit he was better at both than I am or ever was. His memory will live on in all of us. Rest in Peace little man. You will never be forgotten.
Any donations will be used to help offset the cost of the medical and burial expenses. Any excess funds will be donated to the local elementary school.
Rick and Jerry are my next door neighbors and extremely close friends. I’ve always thought of Jerry like one of my own. He was always around with that smile that could make even the worst of days not seem so bad. I’m going to update the total to a more realistic number to hopefully at least put a dent in the financial burden this will eventually have on Rick. Thank you all for your support and beautiful memories of Jerry. Please share any stories that you may have in the comments so that his loved ones can have them to look back at. Much love and thanks to you all.
7/21: This afternoon Jeremy gave the gift of life to other children by donating organs to those in desperate need. This wonderful act has turned what is a tragedy to those who knew and loved Jeremy into a blessing for others. God bless you Jeremy and family.
