Jeremy's Fight Against Leukemia

I am reaching out to all of our friends to ask for prayers of healing and strength for my brother Jeremy Duff. Last August, he had a heart attack (not because of blockage or anything majorly wrong with his heart). But because Jeremy was not recovering as quickly as his cardiologist thought he should be, he decided to run more tests. His doctor recognized the symptoms and test results because his sister had been diagnosed with CML (chronic myeloid leukemia). This was definitely God putting this doctor in Jeremy's life. He was then sent to an oncologist and this past September he was diagnosed with CML in the accelerated phase and a blood disorder. Since then he has been taking shots for the blood disorder and taking medicine and a chemo pill twice a day for the CML. Right after Christmas he found out that the blood disorder was under control, but that the medicine for CML was not working. This medicine works in 80% of people with CML. The next week after his second bone marrow biopsy he learned that the CML was much worse than originally thought and that traditional medications were not going to work. The best option that the doctor and a second opinion could give was for Jeremy to get into a clinical trial. This would give him a 50% chance of surviving the next year, but once he makes it past the first year, he will be on the good side of everything. The first trial he applied to decline to take him because of the severity of his CML, but since then he has been accepted into two!!! Again this was God touching our lives because insurance will cover part of these two clinical trials. We are now needing help to raise funds to cover the part of the trial that insurance is not going to cover and any time off work that Jeremy has had to take and will have to take when the trial starts.
