With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we come together to celebrate the life of our beloved, Jermani Mack Golphin, who departed this world far too soon at the age of 22. Jermani was a radiant soul, a beacon of light whose love, kindness, and charisma touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jermani Mack Golphin, graced the world on June 14th, 2001, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the beloved son of Shahnaz Ali and Jermaine Golphin. Jermani's journey began with a strong foundation rooted in faith, as he was baptized at First Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio.
Jermaine Golphin and Shahnaz Ali were blessed beyond measure to have Jermani as their firstborn. He was not only their son, but their teacher, dearest friend, and greatest source of joy who illuminated their world and filled their hearts with laughter, love, and an abundance of memories to hold forever dear.
In 2019, Jermani graduated from Beachwood High School with distinction, earning accolades on the merit roll all four years. His peers held him in high esteem, recognizing his authenticity, leadership, and integrity. During a required high school internship, Jermani stood out amongst the other students, leading him to impress the head Plastic Surgeon at Cleveland Clinic Beachwood Hospital. His dedication left a lasting impression, earning him a valuable recommendation for his future endeavors. Although he briefly pursued studies at Cleveland State University, Jermani, remained devoted to his true passions of boxing and music, which he pursued successfully with whole-hearted conviction.
Jermani was an artist in every sense of the word and his passion for music was unparalleled. Music was his sanctuary—a place where he could express himself freely and connect with others on a profound level. His melodies were a reflection of his soul—rich, vibrant, and full of emotion.
In the boxing ring, Jermani was a force to be reckoned with—a testament to his strength, discipline, and unwavering determination. He was foundational in starting Fresh Xperience Boxing Academy, his father's gym, where he not only honed his skills but inspired others to pursue their passions with steadfast tenacity and dedication.
Throughout his life, Jermani's God-given talents in boxing and music inspired people around him in the most infectious and unparalleled way.
Beyond his accomplishments, Jermani's greatest legacy lies in the love and care he bestowed upon his family. His selflessness knew no bounds, and his love knew no limits. Raised with strong values of love and respect, he cherished his family unconditionally. As the eldest sibling to three sisters and one brother, he was their protector, their role model, and their guiding light. Jermani adored his siblings, whom he embraced as a devoted big brother, as he always made quality time for them. He was the live-in caretaker for his great-grandmother, a devoted grandson to his grandparents on both sides of the family, and a beloved nephew, cousin, and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was the rock upon which our family stood, the one who brought us together in times of joy and sorrow alike.
Jermani's magical and magnetic personality drew people to him effortlessly. He was everyone's friend, confidant, source of laughter, and pillar of strength. His infectious laughter and genuine smile could brighten even the darkest of days. His absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew him—a testament to the profound impact he had on the lives of all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
