Jermiron's Precious Daughters

Donation protected
On Thursday, January 28th, 2016, the Illinois Tech community lost a dear and precious member. Jermiron Morris, known affectionately as "Jay" by some and "Bruh Man" by others, passed away early that morning, a loss that was felt not only here on campus but throughout the greater community of Chicago and beyond.

Jay was a hard worker, a team player, and a very wise and humble individual. He was a co-terminal student pursuing both the Bachelor of Industrial Technology and Management (with a specialization in Supply Chain Management), and the Master of Industrial Technology and Operations (with a specialization in Industrial Sustainability). Jay had completed the requirements for the bachelor 's degree and had one semester remaining to complete the master's degree. The bachelor's degree will be awarded at IIT's Commencement in May 2016.

Jay, who was a friend and brother figure to many of us on campus, left behind a daughter, Taylor and two step daughters, Kalyia and Aria, whom he loved and talked about often.

To honor him and to continue his strong love and dedication to education and knowledge, the students of Illinois Tech are raising money that will be put into savings bonds for Jay's three girls that will go toward their college education in the future.
