Jerome's Cancer Treatment (PEMF Therapy)

Donation protected
Hi friends and loved ones.

My name is Jerome and as I embark on my 49th year, one I thought I might not see, for my birthday this year, I am making a big ask. The last 4 years, I have had worsening symptoms from Stage 4 prostate cancer that has spread to my spine, sacrum and hip bones. This past 2 years and especially the last 10 months have been extremely challenging with debilitating pain, very low energy and not too many positive results from oncologists and other cancer specialists.

In 2019, I began to experience symptoms that I thought were related to a digestive issue. All through 2020, I was experiencing pain and discomfort. Unfortunately, my doctor of more than 30 years retired in 2018 and I was left without a family physician for 3 years. After a little over 2 1/2 years of pain, symptoms and many tries to be seen at the walk-in clinic, I finally ended up in the emergency room 3 times within 2 weeks in Dec. 2021. I was finally informed that I had 4th stage prostate cancer with metastatic bone cancer that had spread to my hips. I was told it was a shame I didn't get assessed a little sooner because they probably could have caught the cancer before it escaped the prostate. I am past the disappointment, anger and fear at this point and have accepted my situation fully.

I received a major round of radiation in the spring of 2022 and was allowed 6 weeks off work with pay from Discovery House to address my health issues. I started feeling better a couple of months after getting through the terrible side effects, including a pelvic infection, from the radiation. I was also prescribed some heavy-duty hormone therapies, and pain medication that also come with their own serious side effects including the guaranteed onset of osteoporosis (generally within a 5-year period). However, my bone health was deteriorating surprisingly rapidly as of last September.

In September 2022, I began to feel like I had a mildly bruised tailbone. By November, the symptoms were debilitating at times and my doctor ordered an X-ray which didn't happen. By December I was unable to attend major work & life events and a few times experienced short-term paralysis in my legs. My oncologist ordered a priority CT scan and assured me this would happen within 14 days, however, the CT scanner was broken over Christmas and it took 26 days to receive the scan. My oncologist called me 1/2 an hour after the CT scan was completed to inform me that I now had a major metastatic mass (tumor) in my left sacrum and spine along with some lesions (cracks) in the lower spine that were likely the source of the intense pain I was experiencing.

I was told that another short round of radiation would help. However, when I met with the radiology oncologist I was told that at this point we were doing radiation to mitigate pain and there wasn't much chance of slowing the aggressively advancing metastases (tumours). I did 5 more rounds of radiation, got two more serious infections, and a host of other negative side effects due to radiation yet received little to no pain relief from the sessions.

At this point, I was feeling quite hopeless and we were having family talks with our 8-year-old son about the possibility of losing his Dad, probably sooner than later. My energy was waning, I was trying to hold on to my position as Executive Director of a non-profit society that saved my life and my soul from a crippling drug addiction, 13 years ago. However, I was finding full-time work, family responsibilities and my waning health to be an impossible situation. I worked at Discovery House for a little over 12 years and helped the organization grow from a small donated house with limited cash reserves and funds for staffing or programs into what Discovery House is today.

I am not bragging, or taking all of the credit but I am proud and grateful that I got to be part of this journey. I am glad that it has become a thriving entity with 4 recovery homes in Penticton and millions of dollars in secure assets. And I am comforted that those assets are being used to save men's lives from addiction and give them back to their families like I was to mine in 2010.

Although we had the most successful year in terms of client outcomes in 2022, the board chose (for my health) to not renew my contract in 2023. They gave me a nice severance package and send off. Although I was proud of the legacy I was part of creating, I was extremely worried about the legacy I would leave to my family. Along with the worry of possibly passing away and leaving my family behind, the daily worsening pain, was the fear that should I live, how would I be able to work again and provide security for my family. I cannot sit or stand in one place for a long time. My energy was next to nothing. And my bone health was deteriorating at a surprisingly rapid rate. The pitying looks in the doctors eyes and the mantra of "we're really surprised things are deteriorating so rapidly was really starting to weigh heavy on my heart and mind. I was full of fear and not very hopeful.

When out of the blue, Sean Dillon called me from PEMFIT to say that an anonymous donor had paid for me to have 3 PEMF therapy sessions. I had no idea what this was and although skeptical of the results, I was willing to try almost anything at this point.

PEMF or Pulsed Electromagnetic Field therapy is done with an electromagnetic field generator (the PEMF 120) that emits a frequency of 7.83Hz (aka. The Schuman Resonance). This frequency is the same frequency emitted by our Earth but in a more concentrated way. 7.83Hz is the language of the cells; the frequency in which they operate at their optimal function. PEMF therapy allows your own cells to heal your body by helping them function in their optimal frequency. The theory is that nothing can heal your body but your cells. Though outside substances or treatments may alleviate symptoms, it is only the body's own cells that can heal it.

It seemed simple enough, but would it really work? What has happened for me over the past 3 months has been miraculous in my opinion. I began PEMF therapy with Sean, 1 hour per week in April. My energy levels improved and my daily pain decreased by about 80-85%. However, a treatment would generally last 2-4 days. By the 5th appointment, I was seriously thinking of investing in my own commercial machine, but at a cost of $30,000, I needed to be sure this wasn't just a placebo effect. After my 6th treatment, I had another CT scan scheduled by my oncologist. The day of my 7th treatment, I had so much swelling in my prostate, bowels, intestines and spine that I could barely walk and was thinking about heading back to the emergency room. However, I went to the amazing Dale MacLean for a massage and then to my PEMF treatment with Sean. I could actually feel the swelling shrinking inside of me and walked out of the appointment feeling pain-free, energetic and happy. The effect also lasted an entire week this time.

At this point, I was convinced that it would be a smart move to purchase the PEMF120 and to receive the training to not only help myself but to start a practice and help others. Within 2 months my energy levels had improved, my bone health was getting better, and my CT scans in June came back showing a reduction in the metasteses on my right side and that the growth had completely stopped! (remember I was told by radiology that there was little to no evidence this could/would happen). On my left side, the surprisingly aggressive tumour mass that had been getting severely worse by the month had slowed its growth.

I purchased a PEMF machine with a down payment and borrowed funds approximately a month ago and have been using it almost daily. My life is functional again. One morning last week, I felt better than I had in the past four years. With this campaign, I am hoping to repay my loan on this machine and replace the funds that I used for my down payment. With the funds raised, I intend to start a PEMF Therapy practice and to help others who may wish to try a non-invasive, effective therapy that can help aid traditional medical therapies. It has shown results for many disorders that involve internal or external swelling, poor circulation or pain. The machine is being used by many NHL and NFL teams to help rehabilitate players from injury, concussion and to enhance player performance. I am excited about this new venture in my life.

Because of this therapy, we have been talking more to our son about how I am living with cancer rather than dying from it. I feel a little bit selfish in asking for your help and a little awkward as all the money I have raised over the past 12 years has generally gone to benefit others. One thing I have learned and am practicing more recently however is self-care and owning my worth.

So many of you have been saying prayers, calling, checking in and asking how you could help. I appreciate every one of you so much and want you to know, it is all helping. The miracle is happening. Hope is alive in me again. If you can please help me to fund the cost of this PEMF machine I promise to get well soon and get back to helping others, although in a slightly new way.

we never know how much time we've got.

so please,
be well & love well my friends.
