Join us as we appreciate all “Coach” has done for the community and for the hundreds of kids he influenced by supporting his family in this devastating loss.
Jerry spent over 50 years as a coach and mentor to many. After coaching football, baseball , and golf, he took his team to State numerous times. Coach Crumpton was part of the amazing coaching staff that lead McKinney ISD to win state in 1979 as the first assistant coordinator. He influenced SO many athletes, and the amazing thing about Coach was he knew and remembered every single one of his students. He loved and cared about each and every one of these precious lives and continually encouraged them through college and throughout their adult lives. Several of his players went on to become professional athletes. Coach Crumpton won “Texas High School Golf Coach of the Year “in 2015 yet those who were fortunate enough to work with him feel he could have been coach of the year ANY year. As Head Coach in football, baseball, and golf, Coach Crumpton has impacted hundreds of adolescent lives in addition to being a role model/mentor to his colleagues. Teaching was his life and he did it in such a manor that each person he influenced always strived to be the best they could be no matter what. He always said “get it done.”
There are not many places
Coach can go in his town without running into someone he has directly impacted. He made such a difference in SO many lives.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, two daughters, and two grandchildren.
Let’s wrap Coach’s family in our caring arms and support them as they endeavor this traumatic loss as those who knew him know the impact of his loss.
