Jerry Sanford Fundraiser

Hi everyone, I'm Julie, I'm making this gofundme on behalf of my dad Jerry Sanford who is in the ICU at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Two weeks ago he left for a cruise to fulfill a lifelong goal he had to visit the Caribbean, but when he got back on land he realized he was starting to feel very sick and went to the ER. The hospital staff diagnosed him with Covid-19, gave him an anti-viral and sent him back to the hotel to rest, but unfortunately, his condition didn't improve and he was checked in again the next day.

His symptoms were re-evaluated and they discovered he also had severe bacterial pneumonia and was going into sepsis. As a result of having two serious infections at the same time his heart and kidneys began failing very quickly leading to intubation and kidney dialysis while under sedation. He is in rough shape and his condition is critical- but, he is one of the strongest people most of us have ever known, and if anyone could pull through this it is going to be him.

I'm starting this gofundme to help with some of the medical costs and travel expenses since I live in Las Vegas. There is no goal amount for this, just anything would be helpful right now if you are able. If not we would just appreciate your support and prayers, keep him in your thoughts.
