Jerry's 'F Pancreatic Cancer' Fund

Jerry Heath is my father-in-law. Jerry is my husband Nick's father and his best friend. A lot of you know him as a NHRA Stock Eliminator National Record Holder and a friend to countless racers across the United States.
In 2022, Jerry started having abdominal pain. He didn't waste any time going to the doctor to find out what was causing the pain. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and his doctors started him on chemo right away. His diagnosis was Stage 1 Pancreatic Cancer which is extremely rare. Most patients get diagnosed at Stage 3 or 4.
When Nick and I got the call from Jerry we started researching right away what we were looking at: The overall five-year survival rate for Pancreatic Cancer is 7.2%. Jerry had a positive mindset and he was determined to beat the cancer. He has fought hard and stayed positive throughout 3 rounds of chemo. The nurses said he was a model patient and never complained. He was always cracking a joke. Initially, he was able to get work done on the dream dragster he was building. His dream was to finish the car so he and Nick could live out his dream of winning nationals again.
A few months ago, we learned how quickly the cancer was spreading and it became increasingly aggressive even after a successful year of chemo. We tried everything including a trial drug. Nothing could stop this deadly disease. He is living out his final days amongst close family.
There's a lot of things I have learned from Jerry. The one thing sticks out the most is 'Always make the most of every single day'. He will live on in the hearts of everyone who loved him.
Donations will be used to help cover medical costs that occurred during this relentless battle and funeral costs.
