Jess, Cody and their premature newborn son.

We are asking for financial help for our friends Jess and Cody. After an unexpected premature delivery of their son at 29 weeks gestation, they are now dealing with the emotional, financial burdens and extra stress.

On December 4th Jessica's water broke suddenly. Soon after, Salmon Arm hospital air lifted her to the level 4 NICU Royal Columbian hospital in New Westminster, BC as the birth of her 29 week old baby was imminent. Her husband Cody traveled by car over night and by that evening they were in a full on emergency C section.

Baby resides currently in the NICU, however Jess and Cody have been discharged to a near by hotel where they travel back and forth multiple times a day for routine times with their baby.

After a ton of emotional challenges and incredible care from the NICU team at Royal Columbian hospital, baby has stabilized enough to be air lifted to a closer NICU hospital at Royal Inland in Kamloops, BC.

Their baby will spend the first 11 weeks of his life in the hospital getting the life saving care he needs to develop. This has put great financial stress on these beautiful parents, who now instead of being at home with their newborn, have to pay for continued accommodations, meals, travel, and take an early leave of absence from work. All well trying to find a sense of normal. They have a long journey ahead of them before they can all get home, hopefully in mid-Feb 2023!

Currently they are unaware if there are any birth defects or lasting complications as he continues to undergo tests & assessments as he hits certain milestones. This leaves uncertainty at this point of long term or future medical costs associated with babies future care or specialized equipment for him once they eventually return home.

Our hopes are to help raise funds to at least help off set some costs and give them one less pressure in their circumstance. Any little bit will help give this wonderful family and friends of mine some relief so they can focus on their babies health.
