Jess Rae Album Fundraiser
Hi Everyone,
As some of you know, I’ve been very busy making albums and touring with the band Sweet Alibi for the last eight years. And while I'm going to continue with Sweet Alibi, what you may not know is over the years I’ve had a handful of songs that I’ve been writing on the side. I'm excited to introduce them to you today.
March 2020: A Sudden Change Of Plans and a Creative Playground
I flew out to Vancouver Island on March 9, to do a few days of co-writing and vocal coaching with
Juno award nominted musician Scotty Hills. The original plan was to meet up with Sweet Alibi on the mainland and do a 10 day tour. Then come back to the island for a week to keep co-creating with Scotty. Things changed pretty quickly; within three days of me being there, the tour was cancelled. I had a choice to either come home or stay on the island for a bit. The place I was staying was absolutely gorgeous, on the side of the Koksilah River in the a 200 square-foot A-frame cabin, separate from most of society. It was a pretty easy and safe decision.
Scotty Hills and I ended up gathering material and insulation, to soundproof the cabin, so that we could start to make demos of some of the songs that we had been working on day in and day out. There was nowhere to go but face creativity head on. The songs are sounding incredible and I can't wait to release them to the world!
Going Ahead With Recording... With A Little Help From My Friends.
There’s a lot of final touches, and recording that needs to take place. To properly release and manufacture an album requires time, energy and money. To be able to do this, I am reaching out to you.
My total fundraising goal is $12,000 which would go to studio fees, mastering fees, producer fees, engineering fees, manufacturing, marketing and publicity.
The projected release is for late fall of 2020 or the early spring of 2021.

It’s an interesting and vulnerable thing to ask community for support. I’m excited to put this love of music out there, and see what bounces back.
Many thanks, be safe, and be well.
Jessica :)
