Jesse & Carissa's Adoption Fund!

Donation protected
Adoption has always been a part of our story. From Jesse’s two adopted siblings to the desire planted deep in my heart even at a young age, we always knew adoption would be a part of our journey together. And from the mutual conversations about adoption on our first date to now 6 years into marriage it had never been a question of “what if?” but rather, “so… when?” But God is so gracious and kind in our process!
Looking back over the last few years I have seen him gently lead us to where we are today. Little surrendered yesses over time have shown me that following Jesus’ call on my life is certainly not easy but incredibly abundant!

I know this will be hard. There is a solemn reality that this story has already started because of something broken. But I know God has a plan for that child. For that mother. For us. Right now he is just asking us to move forward in faith. To do our part (you know… the paperwork, funding, prayer...) and to sit back and let him work out the rest. Because he writes the best stories!

He is doing a new thing! In me, around me, then and now and in the things to come. How amazing that we all get to be a part of it together!

So, Why Adoption?
God’s family is so much bigger. I believe that “family” goes far beyond biological lines. Simply put, we know God is asking us to start our family in this way and it is our desire and joy to do so! However, adoption is not only a means to an end. Adoption is about the child not about us. Like any parent, we desire to raise and love and support our child no matter what and pray and desire to love and support the birth family as well.

When?
The short answer is: no idea! Everything past us completing the home study process is a mystery and I suppose that is both incredibly terrifying and exciting all at once! Since our specific path is a domestic adoption it will be entirely up to the birth mother to choose us as the adoptive parents. Open hands. Open hearts. And cheerful expectation as we wait.

Now What?
We understand that not every person is called to adopt but I do believe anyone, any age can be a part of what God is doing through adoption through both prayer and support. Please pray with us as we continue through this process. And patience most of all as we wait. That we would trust in the Lord’s perfect timing and placement for his child.

Adoption is costly in many ways. But we believe there is no scarcity in the Kingdom and God will provide for whatever he calls us to do. We are so grateful as you support us financially and join us in the big picture of God’s plan for his kids.
