Jesse Hernandez Family

Hello friends. With permission from the family, I, Rebecca Jones- a friend of them both, have started this campaign on the behalf of Jesse, Blanca, and their six children. Last Wednesday, August 21st, after some concerning signs of being ill arose, Jesse left his work site and went to a local ER in Los Angeles. He was working a new job there with is Father-in-Law, from their home town in Fresno. He was quickly diagnosed with heart failure and kidney failure and put on supportive devices in the ICU.  In order to provide the best care for his complex issues, he was transferred to the hospital he is currently at in the ICU. Over the next few days the teams of doctors did testing, treatments, and procedures to try to help Jesse recoup some strength and help his body fight the virus in his blood that caused this to happen to him. Blanca, his wife, along with their two toddlers, Blanca's sister and parents, and Jesse's parents were there for a few days. Blanca has not left since last Wednesday and is there making decisions on a daily basis. Every moment is touch and go. The expectation is at best he will be there for many weeks with an unknown outcome. The prognosis doesn't look good, but we continue to hope and to wait. Family and friends have teamed up to look after the children as she stays by the side of the one true love of her life, just like he asked her to.

Jesse and Blanca have a combined family of six children- 4 teens and two toddlers. Blanca is a home-maker and did some photography as a hobby when time allowed. Jesse is the sole provider for the family. As a veteran of our Military, Jesse shows the strength and determination you'd expect to see from one of our bravest and finest. He is a very hard worker and a passionate husband, father, and friend with lots of laughter and jokes to share. Blanca and Jesse are the kind of couple that just make a seamless team and have huge heart for others, always stepping in to help and give a genuine listening ear through life. I had the privilege of being front row to their union, special events, and the births of their two babies as their photographer and friend. Jesse was so tender with Blanca in labor, and wept with joy to meet his children. They were always an inspiration to be around because what they share and the love they have is tried and true. As I type this, Jesse is sedated, unaware of us and unable to connect. Please pray for Blanca as she makes hard decisions, wisdom for her and the doctors, fortitude for the family who loves him and supports her, and strength plus understanding for the teens.

The reason for the go fund me is so that we can come alongside the family in these hours of great need. There's much urgency. Due to the fact that Jesse had just started a job, there is nothing more to come from that to help Blanca meet their basic needs, pay regular monthly bills including a mortgage, or help her cover the costs of travel (for her and the caregivers who drive down on weekends so the babies can see their mom), her food daily, and the unimaginable bills that are accruing. I set an amount that will help them through 2-3 months. I know Jesse would be right up front of the line to give to our family if this were us, in fact they have shown us that kind of love by buying us Christmas groceries after I was in an accident that ended my career. Please give your best thoughts, most fervent prayers, and consider blessing them with monetary means to get through this time the best they can. Thanks so very much in advance.
