On Monday, April 25, 2022. As a member of the Marion County Interagency SWAT team Jesse and many others were assisting with the apprehension of a wanted subject who barricaded himself in a van at a truck stop in Aurora, Oregon. US Marshall’s and police from multiple agencies responded to the location.
Negotiations with the subject went on for hours but were unsuccessful. The subject exited the van just before 11am and shots were fired. Jesse was shot and received serious injury during this time. Jesse was hospitalized and underwent surgeries for his injuries.
Miraculously Jesse was released from the hospital on Friday, April 29th, 2022. Jesse is thankfully now home recovering. Jesse will have many follow up appointments and physical and occupational therapy. Jesse is eager to work toward walking again and being back at work. Friends of Jesse organized this for him to assist with his recovery over the next few months and any unforeseen expenses, home modifications and more. Jesse is a hero and loved by many. Thank you all for your support, kindness and generosity during this time for Jesse.
Much love
