Jesse Recovers from Cancer
Donation protected
My dear friend Jesse M. (better known throughout the Boston rock scene as Jesse Von Kenmore) was recently diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer.
Jesse is a single dad and recovering addict with more than 20 years of continuous sobriety. Those who have met him know him as a relentlessly loyal friend and as a decent, caring man.
On January 29, 2020, Jesse underwent a partial lobectomy at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston to remove the tumor from the upper quadrant of his right lung. The surgery was successful and he has been released from the hospital. The initial biopsy of his lymph nodes look promising, but he is still waiting for the final biopsy results.
In the weeks leading up to his surgery, Jesse missed lots of time from work as a sign fabricator due to his illness. He has nominal disability coverage which will not be sufficient to provide for his day to day needs. Post surgery he will be out from work for at least several weeks, or more, due to the physically taxing nature of his trade.
His many friends have been generous with their time, have provided rides, and have cooked meals. His heart is filled with thanks for all of these gifts. Unfortunately, these generous outpourings will not be sufficient to pay any uninsured medical bills, co-pays, and deductibles. They will not cover utility bills, groceries, and rent as he continues to recover.
Jesse has no living relatives other than his 20 year old son. His parents are gone. He has no siblings. He only has us.
I am posting this gofundme page in the hopes that you will join with me to help support Jesse during this difficult time.
With Love and Gratitude,
Stuart A.
