Jesse Savage Emergency Medical Fund
Donation protected
On Friday, August 4th, Amy was admitted to the hospital with pre-eclampsia in California. Amy and James were in California to celebrate their wedding. On August 5th a precious baby boy named Jesse James was delivered via emergency c-section. Weighing in at 3 lbs 10 mighty ounces, Jesse was flown to San Francisco to be at the best NICU in the state. Amy was released the next day. Her and James made the long 5 hour drive to be with their son, even despite her pain. Jesse James needs to stay in the NICU in California for 1-2 months. As you can imagine, there will be a lot of out of pocket expenses to stay in California until they can all return to Minnesota. Anything you can donate, big or small will mean the world! If you cannot donate, please share!
Update 8/11/2023:
Jesse James has a long road to recovery but he is gaining weight and has his CPAP off! This mighty little peanut wears the tiniest diapers you have ever seen! He also got his surgical lines removed. Amy and James were able to buy a few comfort items with your donations to help them sleep. From Amy: “Every 3 hours he gets a clean diaper, a full feeding, and, as often as possible, skin to skin time. Jamie has had some crud the past few days so has stuck to just diaper changes. Hopefully by early next week it'll be resolved.
Jesse has been more wakeful, and I like to think it's because he hears and smells us. He yawns with his whole face, finishing off with an impressive flutter of so many tiny lashes. He searches the ceiling and the room, his pupils bouncing around, unsure where to settle. They find our faces, though, and I flex every one of my jaw muscles at the same time without even trying”
