Article:
Jesse Treviño Art Conservancy Scholarship. This GoFundMe page was created to proliferate the arts through scholarship in the name of Jesse Trevino, San Antonio artist, Vietnam Veteran and American Latino icon.

Jesus “Jesse” Treviño, age 76, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the Treviño family requests that memorial contributions be made to the “Jesse Treviño Art Conservancy Scholarship”, established by the Avenida Guadalupe Association - a 501c3 Nonprofit Organization in the State of Texas. Your contribution is a tax-deductible contribution 100% restricted to a scholarship award in memory of the life and legacy of Jesse Treviño.

The GFM "default-tip" of 15% is not required and can be changed to any amount, including 0% or $0.00.

The story of Jesse Trevino teaches us how a single scholarship can be consequential to the life of a young person seeking a good education in the arts, particularly a student from a low-income neighborhood. Jesse Trevino was strongly committed to youth in education and the arts. This Jesse Trevino Art Conservancy Scholarship is one way the Trevino Family and the Avenida Guadalupe Association can share in Jesse’s belief in young people pursuing artistic excellence.

Jesse Treviño is best known for his vivid and stately paintings of Westside life and for grand-landmark works of public art throughout the city. He is San Antonio’s Artist and will be missed more than words can convey. Masterpiece works include: "Spirit of Healing" at the Children's Hospital of San Antonio, "La Historia Chicana" at Our Lady of the Lake University, and “La Veladora of Our Lady of Guadalupe" at Teatro Guadalupe.
